COVID-19 Policy

At A. P. Mathews Heating & Air Conditioning, the safety and security of our employees, customers and community is our utmost priority. We are closely monitoring the rapidly evolving outbreak of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) and its impact on the community. Our employees provide essential services that keep our customers safe and comfortable. In times of public health concern, such as now, we remain committed to performing this critical role for our customers.

In order to maintain a safe environment for both customers and employees, we will be enacting the following measures.

Our Employees

  • Will always wear gloves and masks while on the job
  • Will continue to wear clean shoe covers
  • Will maintain a six-foot social distance from all customers and their pets
  • Will regularly disinfect their tools and vans with bleach products
  • Will regularly clean their tablets and phones with bleach products
  • Will call customers when they arrive to determine the best way to enter the home. Employees will communicate with customers by phone, text, email or Facetime during and after the appointment in order to keep a safe social distance.
  • Will disinfect all surfaces before any work begins and we will again disinfect all surfaces we encounter with bleach products (furnaces/thermostats) when the work is completed
  • Will remove all refuse in A. P. Mathews supplied trash bags
  • Will be sent home for at least 14 days if they are feeling ill or showing any symptoms of being ill. (Employees will be paid sick leave)
  • Will adhere to our no handshake policy
  • Will take their temperature before each day of work. If a fever occurs, they will not be permitted to work. (Employees will be paid sick leave)
  • Will report to employers as soon as possible if they have reason to believe they have been exposed to someone with COVID-19. If this occurs they will not be permitted to work.
  • Employees experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms will be asked to get tested.

In order to ensure the health and safety of our customers and employees, we ask that all customers answer a few questions before scheduling an appointment:

  1. Have you or anyone in your household traveled out of the country in the last 14 days?
  2. Are you or anyone in your household experiencing cough, shortness of breath, and/or fever?
  3. Is there any possibility that you or anyone in your household has been exposed to COVID-19 or been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?

If you answered YES to ANY of these questions, A.P. Mathews cannot service your home at this time. We are working hard to ensure that our customers and employees and healthy and safe, so we ask that you wait 14 days before re-evaluating.

Payment Policy
In order to be compliant with social distancing, our existing customers will be sent an invoice via email. For new customers, we ask that payment be made over the phone, either with the technician or the office. We accept credit cards and debit cards for your convenience.
